I am a Ph.D. student in the Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures at Columbia University. My dissertation focuses on embodiment and spiritual rebirth in Chinese Buddhism and Daoism. Other research interests include images in Japanese Buddhism, Islam and Muslims in China, and demons in Chinese Buddhism.
